Here at JL Enterprise Denver Asphalt And Concrete have worked hard o achieve the best possible customer satisfaction in all our Denver asphalt services. Our team has a high quality asphalt milling services. Our services are completed at the highest possible quality. Milling is the process of removing and replacing old asphalt pavement. When the service is performed by an experienced crew, it can last for nearly 25 years with correct and constant maintenance! When the existing asphalt is still sound but in need of repair, resurfacing the existing asphalt with 1.5” or 2.0” is an option. To maintain current drainage patterns and or reveal at the gutters, the removal of the existing asphalt is usually required. This removal is called “milling.” We own our own fleet of milling machines to ensure that the operation goes smoothly and quickly.

Asphalt Milling

Asphalt milling is the definition of removing and recycling existing asphalt pavement in order to restore and correct errors in the current asphalt surface. The first step in the process is to remove the top layer of asphalt in an area. The removed material is then grinded up in a machine and is restored to the necessary consistency for creating fresh pavement. The entire process can be completed quickly.

Although the process has been around for several decades, there is still no better way to maintain your Denver asphalt surfaces than with an asphalt mill and overlay. When combined these two services provide a great cost-effective to worn out damaged asphalt.

If you're still not convinced how great of an option milling and overlay is here are a few benefits you can make for your Denver asphalt project.

COST SAVINGS

Asphalt pavements are typically 4 or more inches thick, with a mill and overlay, only the top 1.5 to 3 inches of the pavement are removed and replaced with new asphalt. This process is faster than a full reconstruction, reducing costs by saving time as well as materials.

NEW FRESH SURFACE

While a mill and overlay is not the same as a brand new pavement, it certainly looks like it. Replacing the surface of the pavement revitalizes the curb appeal of your parking lot. If you ask us, there is nothing better than the look of fresh new pavement.

DRAINAGE CORRECTIONS

In some cases, exactly 2 inches of pavement will be removed by milling the surface, but most of the time our milling crew will be milling at variable depths in order to improve the drainage of the parking lot. Better drainage is the best way to fight one of asphalt’s natural enemies (“Water”).

ADDS STRENGTH

Well-designed pavements with a strong aggregate base and adequate thickness to support the traffic loadings will deteriorate from the surface down. Therefore, mill and overlays are an important part of the pavement lifecycle as they remove the deteriorated surface and replace it with fresh new asphalt.
